According to the MS. of Miss Emily Moseley, deceased, of Glastonbury, Conn., … 'the latest use of this form in this region is on the monumental table in the old graveyard in Glastonbury, Conn., erected in memory of Capt. Joseph Maudsley, in 1719. On a small slab near it is Modesley. The next to it is Moseley, and it has been so written since."[3]

All of his sons were living in 1706, and had families residing in Westfield."
