He was about 16 when his family arrived in Penn. according to Emory L. Hamilton and quoted by Caroline Beal in the Mercer Mirror, Aug 30, 1994. Since they were in the Pennsylvania Tax Rolls in 1753 that would make him born in 1737. Moth er had him listed as the third son but he could be the oldest.

Marriage from Maellen Ford, Atwater, CA in her King book, revised edition, in Salt Lake Library, call #929.273 K589f.

Death also from Ford's book. Ford says he was called John "Luke" Laughlin. He is also called alame weaver. I suppose h e was crippled and was a weaver by trade.
