"11. John3 Emerson (John2, Michael1), born at Newbury June 25, 1690; married Elizabeth Hill. He resided at Haverhill where his father gave him land. He and his brother Samuel sold to their father for £200 June 20, 1731, their rights in the land which had come through their mother 'Jude Cheney.' He died before June 25, 1733, when his widow administered on his estate. Philip Haseltine was appointed guardian of Joseph and John September 30, 1734. The widow received her 'thirds' of his 41 acres of land and the personal estate December 24, 1742, and the remainder was set off for the 'only' surviving 'son' Joseph, who was to pay £25-16-8 to 'his only sister,' Judith Hadley."
