--GaleB 09:05, 24 January 2008 (EST) -- The following deeds show that John who died in Highland Co., OH, was the son of Elgate:

Worcester Co., MD Deeds Bk R, pg. 94 I William McBryde am firmly bound unto John Driskele son of Elget in the sum of two hundred pounds to be paid unto the said Jn. Driskele date of Dec. 1, 1792. The condition of the obligation is that if the above bound William McBryde do and shall at the reasonable request of the aforesaid John Driskele alienate make over & convey a tract of land called Taylors Purchase containing fifty acres and part of a tract called William's Choice containing one hundred and twenty-nine acres at the expense of said Driskele then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force. William McBryde (seal) Wit: John Sitton, John Christopher.

The clerk also recorded that John Christopher came into the court in 1796 (4 yrs. later) to swear to this deed. The clerk made the comment that it was dully recorded in the land records and probate. I assume this means William McBryde had died.
