--GaleB 07:50, 24 January 2008 (EST) George was in Guilford Co., NC by 1790, he is listed on that census.

The following marriage record had me going for a long time, I couldn't figure out why George would be the bondsman: Charles Rishaw to Charlotte Craft, Oct 12, 1795. Bondsman George Driskell. Source: Vol 1 Abstracts of Marriage Bonds of Guilford Co., NC.

It turns out, Charlotte was actually Charlotte Wright(dau of Joshua, per his will)from Dorchester Co., MD. She was first married to Thomas Charlescraft, who lived near the Driskells in Guilford Co. Thomas died in Guilford (leaving a will) and Charlotte then married Charles Rishaw/Renshaw. There is no mention of Driskells in either will so no hint of a kinship.

In 1799 George sells his land and moves to Jackson County, GA:

Guilford Co., NC deeds, microfilm Bk 7, pg 107 10 August 1799 George Driskell to Thos. Crouch for 120 pounds tract on west side of South Buffalow containing 175 acres...Wm Williams corner of William Williams line...crossing the grate road that leads from Guilford to Hillsbourough...Ralph Carrells line...Richard Miners Corner. wit: Henry Fryer, Thos. Wiley, Joseph Glen. signed: George Driskell (seal), Nancy Driskell (seal) proven: August 1799. My Note: Henry Fryer is probably kin to Elizabeth Fryer. She married Elisha Driskell, 1795, in Guilford Co.

This next deed recorded in Jackson Co., GA shows George was living there by 1801:

Jackson Co., GA, Deed Book D 1803-1808, pg. 612 May 25, 1801, deed from John Loving of Wilkes Co., to William Dickson of Jackson Co., for a tract of land in Jackson Co. on south fork of broad river containing 125 acres adjoining lands of Richard Holmes and George DRISKILL. Signed: John Loving. Sworn by Richard Holmes on Aug 13, 1802.

In 1807 George deeded land to son, David Beauchamp Driskell. This may have been due to ill health, but there is no mention of it in the deed: Jackson Co., GA Deed Book E, pg. 50 - This Indenture made on the 27th of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & seven between George Driskill of the county of Jackson & state of Georgia of the one part & David Bechim Driskill son of George Driskill of the other part.
