    Reverend John Drake, born circa 1654, was a lay preacher in the early days of Piscataway, and in later years was the regular pastor of the First Baptist Church at Piscataway. He was first married in 1677 to Rebecca Trotter of Elizabethtown. From this marriage and two other marriages John had thirteen children. He died in 1714.
