John Clarricoats was baptised at Heckington in Lincolnshire on 10th December 1752, son of a labourer called John Clarricoats and his wife Elizabeth.

On 23rd July 1780, aged 27, John married Mary Turner at Heckington. They went on to have four children baptised at Heckington between 1780 and 1791. John worked as a labourer.

John died when he was about 45 years old. He was buried at Heckington on 10th October 1797. Mary survived him by 34 years.
