Will Abstract
- Will of John Burke [Essex County], very sick and weak.
- Desires that all lands be sold and lifewise part of his personal estate. The rest of the personal estate and negroes to be divided between wife Susanna Burke and all his children Viz Richard, Ann, Edmund, Thomas, Susannah, William, Judith, and Lucy Burke. Thomas Allen executor.
- Signed John Burke, dated 12 February 1787.
- Witnesses: Thomas Gatewood, Martin Burke, Lewis his x mark Burke.
- Proved 20 October 1788, recorded 15 February 1790.

- John Burke died sometime about the year 1787, leaving Richd, Ann, Edmund, Susanna, Wm, Judith & Thomas Burke his only children. Will dated 12 Feb 1787. Will proved in 1788. Susanna his widow. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 32, 1823, paper 32-I-33.]
