Information on John Beckett

From "Pioneers of Old Frederick Country, Virginia", by Cecil O'Dell, pg. 303-304:

John Glass (b. 1710c) was deceased by 21 May 1755 when his will (dated 26 January 1755) was probated in Augusta County Court. He bequeathed the 250-acre section of his father Samuel's 900-acre tract to his brother-in-law John Beckett. The 250 acres were composed of two sections; one tract of 150 acres on the east side of the Cedar Creek Grade road between David Glass' line and Wood's (James Wood's Tract 140C, Map 8) and the other tract of 100 acres between Joseph Glass' and John Beckett's properties. Beckett sold the 100-acre tract to Joseph Glass (b. 1722) for 100 pounds on 28 February 1772.
Samuel Glass sold 150-acres of the 900-acre tract to his son-in-law John Beckett and Sarah Glass Beckett for 50 pounds on 12 February 1749/50. The 150 acres is located west of the Cedar Creek Grade/Highway 622.
