JOHN H. BEALS Meyersdale Republic, December 5, 1974

John H. Beals, 83, of Meyersdale RD 1, died Dec. 2, 1974. Born in 1891, in Elk Lick Township, Meyersdale RD 1, he was a son of the late George W. and Agnes (Bittner) Beals. Surviving are his wife, the former Velma I. Gnagey; four children, Norval E. Beals, Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. Lorea M. Ruebling, Wheaton, Md.; Mabel Robertson, Meyersdale; and Ward E. Beals, of Coal Run, Meyersdale RD 1; also 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Staub, Coal Run; Hattie Shawley, Bittinger, Md.; and a brother, Roy E. Beals, Salisbury. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, William, Irvin and James Beals, and two sisters, Mollie Rhodes and Edith Bowser, and a granddaughter. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. Funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 7, in Konhaus Funeral Home, Meyersdale, with Rev. Lloyd Sechriest officiating. Interment in St. Paul Cemetery.
