Jesse L HIESTAND

was born on 13 Aug 1858 at Ohio (in the 1900 census his birth is reported as Aug 1859).  In 1897 Jesse L Hiestand married Nancy E. Dryden, daughter of William Dryden and Joana (--?--), married two years in 1900 census.  He died on 25 Dec 1953 at Yellowstone Co., Montana, at age 95.

    He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Eden twp., Wyandot Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents Mathias Hiestand and Nancy Hiestand.  He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Benton twp., Knox Co., Missouri, in the household of his parents Methuselah Hiestand and Nancy Hiestand, he was age 12.  He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Benton twp., Knox Co., Missouri in the household of his brother John M Hiestand, he was age 21.

    Jesse L Hiestand and Nancy E. Hiestand appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Horvell, Frontier Co., Nebraska, enumerated 25 Jun 1900, renting their farm. Nancy reports she is the mother of one child after two years of marriage, infant Leonard is listed with them.  

In 1920 Jesse's occupation was as a farmer at Horvell, Stillwater Co., Montana.

    Jesse L Hiestand and Nancy E. Hiestand appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Stillwater Co., Montana, enumerated 1920, school district #5. They own their farm with a mortgage. They have two children, Ruth and Frances.

was born in Jun 1898 at Nebraska.  In 1921 at Montana Leonard D. Hiestand married Elsie L. (--?--).  He died on 18 May 1986 at Yellowstone Co., Montana, at age 87.

    He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Horvell, Frontier Co., Nebraska in the household of his parents Jesse L Hiestand and Nancy E. Hiestand, he was age one, listed as Leonard D. 

In 1920 Leonard's occupation was as an express man with an express company at Billings, Yellowstone Co., Montana.

    Leonard D. Hiestand appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Billings, Yellowstone Co., Montana, enumerated 16 Jan 1920, listed as a boarder in the home of Stephen and Alberta Mendenhall.
