This is to Certify That Jephunneh, Son of William and Elizabeth Spire, was Born at Laverton in Gloucestershire June 2d 1836 and Baptized February the 21st 1837 By Me Mark Docker Minister of the Independent Chapel Broadway
The year of baptism could also be read as 1839 rather than 1837 - the handwriting is unclear. However, it must have been 1837 as this book was submitted to the Government's Registration Commission in June 1838 and not returned to the chapel afterwards.
