On the 1788 census: Jean LICAIRE, age 48, living with his wife Marie MARBIEAU [MARLBREAUX?], 33, three of her children surnamed DESERT [sic] [his stepchildren] and two of their own daughters, on 6 arpents of land on the right bank. They have 60 quarts of corn, 16 horned cattle, 4 horses and 15 swine on the 1788 census of Lafourche. There are no slaves, but an "engage" named Jean Baptiste LE BLANC, age 20. Recorded as Legajo 201 in the Papeles procedentes de Cuba. [Also on the census dated 1 Jan 1789.] On the 1791 census: Jean LICAIRE, age 49, living with Marie MARBREAU, 35, and "his" five children on the 1791 census of Lafourche des Chetimachas. They have 6 arpents of land, 50 quarts of corn, 3 horned cattle, 2 horses and 20 swine. [Next household is of Marie Christine, widow, age 68.] Also on the 1795 "Census of Valenzuela," taken after 4 Jan 1796 but dated Dec 1795: Juan LICAIRE, age 52, living with Maria MALBROU, 41, and four children [two of them are FALTEMANs]. There is also a Francisco COMUORE, age 30. [Preceded by Antonio COUPEL and Maria FALTEMENE and three children; followed by household of Christina HENRRY, age 76 and Juan MALBRON, age 25.] Also on the 1797 census of Valenzuela in Lafourche: Jean LICAIRE, age 53, living with his wife Marie MALBROU, 42, and four children . There is also an "engage" named Francois, age 31. Recorded on Legajo 213, Papeles procedentes de Cuba. Also, on the 1798 census of Lafourche: Jean LICAIRE, age 57, living with his wife Marie, 42, and three children: Jean, 18; Magdelenne, 15; and Margueritte, 13. In 1803 Jean LICAIRE, "alias" LAVIOLET, claimed land on right bank of the bayou La Fourche, in the county of La Fourche, of 5 arpents and 27 toises in front by 40 arpents deep, bounded on upper side by Estevan HERNANDEZ, on lower by Armand LANDRY.
