AUBURN BARBER IS DEAD AT AGE OF 51 Jan 8, 1939 Jasper W. Housel, Owner of a Shop in North Auburn, Passes Away after Illness from Pneumonia Jasper Warren Housel, 51, owner of the North End Barber Shop at 311 North Street for the past 13 years, died at his home north of Waterloo Sunday night at 10:30 o'clock after a five days' illness of pneumonia. Mr Housel had been a lifelong resident of Dekalb County. He was an employee of Auburn factories before entering the barber shop business. The deceased was born November 20, 1887, south of Auburn, near St Johns. His first wife Alice Myers Housel died in 1931. He later remarried and the second wife survives him as well as two brothers, Arthur of Fort Wayne, and Walter of New Haven, and two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Grimm of LaOtto and Mrs. Ollie Moody of Portland, Oregon. The body was brought to the Gerig-Kaylor Funeral Home in Auburn, and was taken Monday afternoon to the residence, two miles west, and one-half mile south of St Michael's church. It will remain there until Thursday afternoon, when it will be returned to the funeral home where services will be conducted at 2 o'clock. Rev. Joseph Ferguson will officiate and burial will be in the Cedar Chapel cemetery south of Auburn.
