HIRAM HOUSEL AND WIFE OBSERVE 50TH ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Housel of St Johns, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary tomorrow. The members of the family will gather at the home during the morning and at the noon hours a big dinner will be served including the usual wedding cake. Mr. and Mrs. Housel are both in their 70's and are in good health. Mr. Housel is a Civil War veteran, having entered the service to the North at the age of 16 years. He served three years, receiving an Honorable Discharge at the close of the war. Mr. and Mrs. Housel have five children, two daughters and three sons, all of whom are married. Mr Housel is a member of DeLong Post, G. A. R., Auburn.

MARRIED FOR FIFTY YEARS Sixteen Members of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Housel's Family Help The Observe Golden Wedding Two Sons, Jasper and Walter Reside in Auburn -- House in Which They Were Married Still Standing At St. Johns Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Housel of St Johns celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage in an appropriate manner at their home Sunday. Sixteen members of their family were present to help them observe the day. Mr. and Mrs. Housel were married at St Johns in 1869 and have resided at that place for 29 years. They also lived in Garrett and in Wells county during their married life. The house in which they were married at St Johns is still standing and is now owned by E. E. Housel. Mr. Housel is 74 years of age and was born in Trumbull Co, Ohio. Mrs. Housel is 69 years of age and was born in Pennsylvania. At the outbreak of the Civil War, Mr. Housel enlisted and served three years and eleven months with Co. H, 47th Indiana Regiment. He was wounded twice during the war. Present at the celebration Sunday were the following: Mr. And Mrs. Jasper Housel of West Seventh street, Auburn; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Housel of North Jackson Street, Auburn; J. P. Grimm and family of Butler township; A. W. Housel and family of St Johns; E. E. Housel and family of St. Johns; and Ray Coleman of La Otto. A big dinner was served at the noon hour. The children presented their mother with a dress and their father with a watch chain. One daughter, Mrs. Maude Moody of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, was unable to be present.
