never married went to IL in 1855. with her mother, first to Asbury. EVH's health failed and she evetually lost her sight. listed in 1860 DeKalb Co census as a boarder with sister Nancy, profession dressmaker in 1863 Jane bought property and lived there, alone, caring for her mother She cared for EVH, her mother, until she died in Sandwich IL Jane cared for and raised Nancy's children after Nancy died shortly after EVH: the kids ranged in age from 8 to 2yoa Jane then found her brother OH Perry Sloan, who was a wandering vagabond in WI, and brought him back to IL. She cared for him until he died as well. Jane is buried in Dickson cemetary, Sandwich IL
