KOSTER, Jan, age 77, of Rt. 1, Lynden, passed away in a local hospital, Wednesday, Oct. 5, (1960) following a brief illness. Mr. Koster was born in Holland and had been a resident of Lynden since 1929. He owned and operated the Dutch Maid Bakery in Lynden from 1929 until 1943 when he retired. Mr. Koster was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church. Survivors include his wife, Alice; three sons, Ralph of Everson, Nick of Lynden and Arthur of Mount Vernon; two daughters, Mrs. Carrie Sebens of Lynden and Mrs. Grace Gelderloos of Menlo Park, Calif.; four step-children, John Geleynse of Lynden, Mrs. Dena Bierkink of Sumas, Mrs. Bertha Bovenkamp of Lynden and Mrs. Helen Likkel of Denver, Colo.; two brothers and four sisters, all of Holland; one aunt, Miss Hallie Koster of Everett and one uncle, Albert Koster, of Pinehurst, Wash. Also 35 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the Second Christian Reformed Church in Lynden, Monday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Enno Haan officiating. Burial will follow in the Monumenta Cemetery under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home. Friends wishing may donate to the Heart Fund.
