m. 19 May 1829
Facts and Events
James Williams' origins have yet to be established. His first confirmed sighting is on 19th May 1829, when he was married to Hannah Linney at Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire. They appear to have had at least four children together, although the youngest died at two years old. The 1841 census finds James, Hannah and their children living on Brickhill Road in Leighton Buzzard, with James working as a labourer. Hannah's brother and his family lived in the same house. James gave an age suggesting that he was born between 1801 and 1806 (ages were rounded down to the next multiple of five that year), and said that he had not been born in Bedfordshire. James has yet to be traced after 1841, nor has his son John. Hannah died in 1848, aged 36. Their two surviving daughters each stayed in the Leighton Buzzard area and married there. References
