Whitecotten, James - entered service 1776 in Augusta County, Virginia, where resided in Staunton, in Virginia Regiment; granted Pension age 82 in Mercer County, Kentucky, 1833; surname also spelled Whitecotton; query letter in file in 1906 from Miss Dayse M. Whitecotton, Paris, Missouri; query letter in file says soldier resided 1835 in Mercer County, Kentucky, & resided 1840 in Marion County, Kentucky. F-S30780, R2561.
