Bing married Frances Jane Armentrout on 17 Sep 1874 had 10 children. 6 are known to have survived. Other researchers state he operated a store and a mill near Sparks Chapel at Persinger, WV, and was a Sheriff and a member of the Masonic Order. (He's listed as a farm labourer living with his mother and siblings in 1870.) Around July 1,1863 Bing registered for the Civil War along with his nephew Edward (Charles' son) and two brothers William and Isaac.
