Longford 1917-19 He was friendly with Eamon DeValera who came to his house to play cards.....He was also friendly with another Irish politician named Michael Collins. Collins was murdered after he agreed on a peace treaty with the English. James' friendship with both individuals helped him considerably during all the troubles.
