I have just been given this from another Marshall researcher. These Marshalls lived in Brock's Gap in Rockingham County, VA. At the time of James Marshall's death in 1778 this area was a part of Augusta County, VA and became Rockingham County also in 1778. Some of these Marshalls moved on to Nelson County, KY Territory where he was first located in 1791. This area of Nelson County broke off to form Washington County, KY in 1792 when Kentucky gained Statehood.
