- Lane, James - born 12/22/1746 in Great Britain; came abt. age 14 to Rockbridge [then Augusta]] County, virginia, where entered service 1776 in Lexington; granted Penstion 1832 in Grainger County, Tennessee; died 2/4/1835; married there abt. 8/17/1830 to Temperance Jennings who was granted Pention there in 1853 abt. age 65; granted Bounty Land Warrant #26818 there in 1855 abt. age 67; resided in Anderson County, Tennessee, 1866 when Pension restored after Civil War; P.O. Address Wallace Crossroads, that County in 1869 when Pension increased & died 8/14/1872; John Lester was administrator of her estate in 1875; query letter in file 1880 from soldier's grandson Henry S. Lane, Marshall, Texas. F-W8026, R1520.
