Acquisition of Land from Virginia Northern Neck Land Grants:

  • Pg. 348: James Dillon of Frederick County, son & devisee of William Dillon dec'd, 56 acres on Back Creek in said County. Reserving unto Mary Bridges widow of said William Dillon, ⅓ during her natural life and after her decease whole to said James Dillon. Surv. 13 Mar. 1754 made for William Dillon by John Mauzy and forfeited by advertisement. See book N. deed to James Dillon. Adj. said William Dillon, William Frost.     James Dillon married Sarah Monks abt: 1774 in VA. He was disowned by the Quakers in Feb 1774. He died about 1807. His will was dated 3 Aug 1807. I show a note they lived in MD, OH and TN. I do not know the names of their children...

    James Dillon was born in 1748, he was the son of Wm.dillon and grandson of Luke Dillon.Hannah Dillon was Wm.s daughter and she married Edward Wright.They were my 3rd great grand parents.James would be if this is correct my 3nd great grandfather who married Sarah Monks. This is how,James had a son James who married a Rebecca Gray and they had a son Solomon who married Anna Wright daughter of David Dillon Wright son of Hannah Dillon
