!AFN 8LBZ-W6 IS THE SAME PERSON (ENDOW 1 OCT 1964) AS AFN GG8T-CL (ENDOW 10 OCT 1964) DIED: 1589 not 1593.

WILL: The will of vicar John Carpenter who died in 1558 indicates ... "I bequeath to Richard, John the younger, James and William the sonnes of William Carpenter, my brother, 20 English sheep, between them." "I bequeath to James Carpenter, my brother's son, my donge wayne and bullock of one years age." The will of Vicar John Carpenter who died in 1558 is strangely amiss about the relationship of the next two Carpenters. My guess is that they were children of James? NOT PROVEN HOWEVER. "I bequeath to Thomas Carpenter, a hiefer yearling, I bequeath to Margerie Carpenter a yearling hiefer."

WILL: The 1588 will of James Carpenter of Kinnersley, Hereford who died in 1589 references his children as: James and Thomas as sons and that James has daughters. Will dated 20 Feb. 1588. (Not 11 Feb 1588 as reported in the IGI!) Probated 1589. "First I give to the repairing of the Church of Kinnersley 2/9d, all the rest of my goods, I give to James and Thomas, my sonnes, to be equally divided between them, paying out of the same goods, the following Viz: To Richard Eastbache - 20d.

       To Eleanor Walls. - 20d.

And to every of my son James daughters, 11d a piece." "I make the said Thomas my son, executor of this my will." WILL: The 1587 will of John Carpenter the younger indicates: "Item: I give to Eleanor Carpenter the pot that was my brother James pot." This gives the impression that John died after James, but James Carpenter's will was probated 1589 and his brother John's will was prodated 1587. Strange.
