Will
James Carpenter of Kinnersley, Hereford whose will was dated 31 Dec 1611 and who died in 1611 (1611/12?)[1]:
- "I give to Margaret my daughter (pounds) in monies to be paid to her within one year of my decease.
- I give to the three daughters of the said Margaret, to either of them (pounds) to be paid them at the age of 16, severally, as they shall accomplish the said age.
- I give to Elizabeth my daughter (pounds) being in the hands of Richard Harries and also (pounds) being in the hands of John Tommis and a standing bed.
- I give to James Price the son of the said Elizabeth (pounds) in money to be paid to him when he shall accomplish the age of 21.
- I give to the three daughters of Catherine my daughter, to either of them (pounds) apiece, to be paid to them severally at the age of 16.
- All the rest of my goods unbequeathed, I give to John my son, whom I do make executor of this my will, provided always, and my will is that my executor shall have the use of the money before given to my daughter Margaret, until such time as her husband Onvars Hoply, shall have restated her the said Margarett for such terms of her life, of all his copyhold lands in Broxswood, at the rent usually heretofore accustomed and according to the custom of the said Manor, paying to her the said Margaret, half the pounds, for the use yearly of the said money, for her maintenance, and my said executor shall -------- --------- off my brother Thomas, to urging all such bonds as he hath sealed as a security for aide to accidents."

Mention in Other Wills
The will of his father, James Carpenter of Kinnersley, was dated 20 Feb 1588 [probably 1588/89] and probated 1589[1].
- "First I give to the repairing of the Church of Kinnersley 2/9d, all the rest of my goods, I give to James and Thomas, my sonnes, to be equally divided between them, paying out of the same goods, the following
- Viz: To Richard Eastbache - 20d.
- To Eleanor Walls. - 20d.
- And to every of my son James daughters, 11d a piece."
