 In the 1880 census for Lee, Brown Co., Illinois, James 'Boram', a farmer age 26, born Indiana (parents Kentucky).  His wife Josephine is 23, born Illinois (parents Illinois)  Their children are 'Nora', son, 3; and Arthur, 6 months -- both born Illinois.  Dora Nokes, 'sister'[in-law?], age 8 from Illinois, is also living with them.  {p.565b, NARA T9-0176}
 In the 1900 census for Lee, Brown Co., Illinois, James Bowen is 45 born Sept 1854 in Indiana (parents Kentucky), farmer, married 27 years; with wife Josephine 43 born Jan 1857 in Illinois (father Vermont, mother Iowa), with 4 of 6 children living; children are Bertha 17 b. Apr 1883; Burell 15 b. Sept 1885; and Seldon 4 born July 1895. Alfred Corman, 27 Ohio, is (boarder?). Son Nova M. Bowen is 55 IN (parents KY), 'proprietor hotel', married once for 36 years; with wife Josephine 53 IL with 3 of 6 children living; and [son - listed as 'head'] Seldon 15 'laborer - tile factory'.  Oral Mullin 21 is nephew, 'laborer - tile factory';  and Joseph Hart 63 is a hired man, 'hosteler - livery'.
 In the 1920 census for Lee, James D. Bowen 66, widowed, is living with son Nova M. 42, widowed, and grandson Albert M. 20.  His son Seldon is in Pea Ridge with wife.
 Their son Burrell is living in Galesburg, Knox Co., Illinois with wife and son 1910-1930.
