Jacob Hager's Will Will Book # 2, Page 514 Tazewell County Courthouse Tazewell, Virginia September 20, 1830

I Jacob Hager of the County of Tazewell do hereby make my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say first I desire that so much of the perishable part of my estate be immediately sold after my decease, and out of the money arising therefrom all my just debts to be paid, Secondly after the payment of my debts, I give to my son Squire all my land estate and m wife Sarah to keep possesion of the same during her natural life, Thirdly I give my son, Squire my smyth tools, fourthly I give my son Squire all my horse beasts and two large kettles, fifthly I give to my son Squire and my Daughter Polly all the rest of my moveable property, to be equally divided between them, Sixthly I do give all the rest of heirs, one Dollar a peace, And lastly I do constitute and appoint my friend Philip Lambert, Executor of this my last will and testament herby revoking all other or former wills by me made, In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this twentieth day of September 1830

The last will and testament of Jacob Hager was proved by the oath of Jeremiah Lambert Jr. and it was also proved that the signature of Jeremiah Lambert Jr. was made in the presence and at the request of the said Jacob Hager by the oath of the said Jeremiah Lambert Jr. & also that the said Jeremiah Lambert Snr. hath departed this life and it is ordered that the said Will be recorded and that certificate be granted to any person applying with the will annexed of the said Jacob Hager decd. (Philip Lambert executor named in the will having as the Court is informed departed this life) for probate of said will in due form.
