Obituary Ysbrand Doornbos was born in the Netherlands in 1851 and departed this life on January 17, 1921 at the age of sixty-nine years two montsh and ten days. At the age of fourteen years he came to America and settled in MUskegon where he lived for twenty years. From Muskegon he went to Lamont to live and remained there for thirty years. While there he united with the Christian Reformed Church. Four years ago he moved to Coopersville and resided here until his death. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Anna Simmons twenty-five years ago last april, and to this marriage was born one son, Neal. He was a kind, devoted husband hadn father and remained true to his Redeemer to the last and found in Him the comfort which stands the test of life and death. He leaves to mourn his death, two sons, Jay Simmons of Holland, Neal of Coopersville, one brother, Cornelius of Muskegon, besides nieces and nephews and other relatives in the Netherlands. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. Hoffs, assisted by Rev. D. Drukker of Zeeland. Interment in Maplewood cemetery in Lamont, beside his first wife. Source: Image Gallery
