Isidore Berger was born 6 January 1876 in Hungary. He arrived in the United States in New York, New York on 24 January 1914 on the Ship "Graf Waldersee", which departed from Hamburg, Germany. Isidore, age 38, his wife Charlotte, age 36, son Fritz, age 3 and daughter Kate, age 3, were listed on the passenger list that is preserved in the ship arrival records of New York City.
Isidore and his family lived in Bronx, New York and were listed in the 1915 New York Census. Isidore was employed by the New York Railroad as a Tinsmith for several years, which is confirmed on his World War I Draft Registration Card and also on the 1940 U.S. Census.
By 1920, they had moved to Mt. Vernon in Westchester County, New York and are listed in the 1920 U.S. Census, which included Isidore, his wife Charlotte and children: Katerine (age 10), Elizabeth (age 4), and Alfred (age 2 6/12). Prior to 1950, Isidore moved to California, likely with his son Alfred, who had moved with his family around the same time. Isidore Berger passed away on 24 June 1952 in Los Angeles County, California.
