A Quaker. Came from a Quaker heritage of several generations.

He was among the earliest pioneers of Warren County.

Born in Virginia. When about 21 went to NJ and m. Elizabeth Haines, a native of NJ, in 1801. Emigrated to Ohio, settled at Waynesville. About a year later removed to Springboro. Settled upon a farm where he spent the rest of his life. His children were Mercy, Noah, Job, Aaron, Ruth, Nathan, Seth, Ann, Maria and Jane. Wife died in Apr 1829. M. For 2nd wife Hannah Neal, a native of VA. By this marriage there was one daughter, unnamed. Was highly esteemed for his strict integrity and kindness of heart.

Isaac and Elizabeth came to Warren county with his father, John.

Isaac and Elizabeth had 10 children who grew to maturity, 5 living in 1882: Noah, Job, Ruth, Maria and Jane.

He was the oldest son of John S. and Catherine Haines. Family legend says he was born in or near Roanoke. His mother (Catherine) was of Quaker stock and of English ancestry.

His brother, Isaiah was the executor of his estate.

Member of Miami MM.. Later disowned by Springboro MM for joining Hicksites.
