Lydia and John were both of Frederick Co. VA. They were married at Crooked Run Meeting House. Among the witnesses were Lydia's parents, Rowland and Lydia Richard and also Jane and Isaac Mullen.

John and Lydia and the younger children came on Quaker certificates to Ohio in 1801. Came down Ohio by flatboat wagons to Cinti (crossed out) Warren County, located on Sec 9 Cleark Creek Township.

John died at Springboro.

John Mullin, when he married Lydia Richards in 1799, stated that his father was John Mullin, deceased, of Burlington County, NJ. He had a brother, William, who moved to Warren County from Burlington County, and lived on land next to John. William, too, had a large family.

Outlived his son, Isaac. During the War of 1812 he was disowned by the Quakers because he apparently took the side of his son, John Jr., who was also disowned for serving in the militia.

Buried in Row 5, # 15 of friends cemetery, Springboro. Row begins at west end, north side for adults.

The Mullins were in the middle of the Quaker church schism in the 1820s/30s. They joined the Hicksite Friends, a more conservative group than the Orthodox Friends to which they had belonged. Therefore in Springboro MM (Orthodox) meeting records one can see the children of Isaac being disowned one by one. There was a Hicksite meeting in Springboro and the family belonged to it.

A Keziah Mullen was the daughter of John Mullen and Jane Kine.

More than half of the stones are missing in the Springboro Friends Cemetery.
