  11. Just before four o'clock this afternoon word was received by phone of the death of Mrs. S.C. Thompson at her home in Parkdale. She had been sick only a comparatively short time. Mr. Thompson is at Belle Fourche, S.D., but is expected home at once.
  12. Mrs. S.C. Thompson Esteemed by Wide Aquaintanceship

Mrs. Stacy C. Thompson, who died at her Parkdale home at two o'clock yesterday afternooon, was for many years a resident of Manistee and its suburb. As Ida May Goodenow she married Mr. Thompson Dec. 21 in the City of Grand Rapids, and they soon came to Manistee to live. Their first acquaintance was formed at Albion College, where both were students.
Mrs. Thompson was born June 2, 1956 in Cook County, Illinois. She was the mother of three children, Mrs. Herbert K. Randall, Mrs. Albert Porter, and Walter Thompson, all of Parkdale. An adopted daughter, Florence, also survives her. Her only other relative is an adopted sister, Mrs. William O. Cole of New York.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Manistee Baptist Church, and of Manistee Hive No. 264 L.O.T.M.M. For some time she had been in failing health, but no intimation of her real weakness was given. Bright's disease, probably hastened by weakness of the heart, was the cause of death.
The funeral will be held at the home Saturday afternoon at three o'clock and interment will be at Oak Grove. Mrs. Thompson leaves many warm and sympathetic friends, who knew and admired her for her fine personality, and useful and faithful life. Mr. Thompson, who has been at Belle Fource for two weeks, is hurrying homeward.
