of Curry-Mallet, Smoerset, Hoo, Kent, Sutton, Dorset, and Tockington, Gloucestershire. He fought in Wales 1277, 1282, 1283, and 1294, in Gascony in 1297, and in the Scottish expeditions from 1298 to 1303. He fought at the Battle of Falkirk 22 Jul 1298 and was present at the seige of Caerlaverock Castle in 1300. In 1281 the king granted him a Tuesday market and two anual fairs to be held at the manor of Tockington, Gloucstershire. He was summoned to a military councel to be held at Gloucester in 1287, and to another at Worcester in 1294 to serve against the Welsh. He was summoned to Parlaiment from 24 June 1295 by writs directed Hugoni Poyntz. He joined in the Barons' letter to the Pope in 1301 as D'n's de Corimalet. Hugh Poyntz and Margaret Paveley had two sons, both born in Tockington, and they may have been twins Hugh, b abt 1279 Nicholas, b abt 1279. Nicholas was also known as the Baron of Cory Malet.
