    Will of "Hezekiah Root of Northampton Yeoman being Weak and Impaired in body", dated 28 March 1753, proved 1 Jul 1766, names son Joseph Root; wife Martha; daughter Dorothy ["at the time of her marriage"]; my other daughters viz Martha, Jemima and Hannah; Sarah Root lately the Wife and now the Widow of my son Simeon Root deceased; son Orlando Root; son Hezekiah Root; grandson Elihu Root only son & child of my s'd son Simeon [under 16]. Wife and sons Hezekiah, Joseph and Orlando to be executors. Codicil dated 19 Jan 1760, mentions wife has died, daughters Martha and Jemima have married, replaces as executor the wife with daughter Hannah Root.
    7 Apr 1767: Bond of William Clark of Northampton as guardian to Elihu Root a Minor more than fourteen & one of the Devisees of Hezekiah Root late of Northampton.
