"He went to Sullivan with his father Ezra at the age of 19, teaching school during the winter months and carried on a small farm summers for several years, till his health failed, when he learned the trade of shoemaking, at which he worked a part of the time, still keeping his farm. Death is recorded in the Worcester Vital Records, cause "Mania Exhaustion". Perhaps he had been a patient at the Worcester State Hospital?
