He came to Packersfield from Hollis, N. H., while young with his father; was married there and resided at the farm formerly owned by his father until March 1, 1836, caring for his father and mother while they lived, when he moved to Sullivan. He represented the town at General Court, was captain of the militia, and held various offices of trust in Packersfield (now Nelson.)
