HERBERT J. WISE-

Herbert J. Wise, 82, Rt.2, Elwood died Tuesday evening at Parkview Convalescent Center. He was born Dec. 13, 1895, in Madison County, and was the son of Nicholas and Cora (McWilliams) Wise. He first married Bernice Hewitt in 1917. She died in 1968. He later married Hazel Rubert who died in 1988. He was retired from Guide Lamp Corp. and was a member of Frankton Masonic Lodge, Frankton Order of Eastern Star, Elwood Council of the Cryptic Masons, the Elwood Chapter of the Royal Arch Mason and the Anderson Chapter of the York Rite.

Survivors include: two sons, Clarence Wise of Pendleton; Howard Wise of Elwood; two daughters, Caroline Nichols of Venice, Fla.; Rotha Jarrell of Alexandria; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Copher and Fesler funeral home. Rev. Brian Morton will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park in Anderson. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Elwood Call Leader, Wednesday, 7 December 1988
