EMERSON WISE, 47, SUCCUMBS SUNDAY-

Emerson Wise, 47, living at 2507 Main street, died at his home at 1:23 o'clock Sunday afternoon, of complications. Born Aug. 18, 1900 in Madison county, he was the son of Nicholas and Cora Wise. He was married to Elizabeth Wilds on Nov. 28, 1925. For a number of years Mr. Wise was employed at the G.I. Sellers and Sons company and also worked at the Chevrolet in Anderson. He was a member of the East Main Street Christian church, a past Mater of the Masons, a member of the Scottish Rite, a past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Lions Club.

Survivors include: the widow Cora; a son, Eugene Wise by a former marriage of Chicago Ill; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Wise of near Frankton; three brothers, Herbert Wise of Frankton; Paul Wise of Indianapolis and Alfred Wise of Elwood. The body was removed to the Copher and Fesler funeral home and will be returned to the residence this evening. Funeral rites will be held from the East Main Street Christian church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Byron Mahan, pastor, will be in charge. Burial will follow in the City cemetery. The body will be removed to the church at 12:30 o'clock Wednesday to lie in state until the hour of the funeral services. Elwood Call Leader Monday, 12 April 1948
