Based on Source:Sumner, William H. History of East Boston: Henry Howell Williams was on Noddles Island (an island in Boston Harbor off East Boston) probably by 1762. On 4 Nov 1762 Thomas Bell leased the use of Noddles Island from Mr. Shute Shrimpton Yeamans for the purpose of raising stock animals. All the animals and utensil were purchased by Henry Howells Williams by May 1765 and he shared the lease with his father-in-law. "...owing to the fact that Henry Howell Williams and his son Thomas occupied [Noddles Island] as lessees for seventy years, it almost lost its proper name, and was often called Williams's Island."
