28 HENRY STUCKER b. about 1766 in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. The first record we have of George, Henry's father, being in Virginia (now Kentucky) was Nov. 20, 1780 when he, Michael, his son, and another Jacob Stucker (George's brother) were enlisted in Capt. William Hogan's Co. of Militia.
m. (1) Jane Gottschall (Godshill - also other spellings) probably about1786 or 1787. Some of the family called her Miss Gudgel. No record has been located of their marriage which no doubt took place in the Court House of Fayette County, and in 1799 this court house burned with all records. m. (2) 1795 Lydia Childres in Woodford County, Kentucky.
Henry made a will dated Aug. 2, 1834 wherein he only mentions Lydia his wife - no mention what ever of any of his children. This will is on file in the Court House at Madison, Indiana with reference, "Pr. Bk. D. 276".
Henry d. 11-20-1834 and was buried about 10 miles from Madison in the old Stucker graveyard. Henry was called "Pigeon Roost Henry" as we understand it his farm was named "Pigeon Roost". There were many pigeons in that vicinity in the early days but they suddenly disappeared in 1870 and no trace since then. There is a monument in Scott Co., Indiana called "Pigeon Roost". This could be approximately the same location as Henry's farm as counties were separated later when Indiana Territory became the state in 1816.
Henry left Woodford Co., Kentucky and came to Jefferson Co., Territory o fIndiana about 1805.
