Henry Huffer and his family came to Clinton Co, IN in the early 1830's from Augusta Co, VA. Yes, Henry and his Elizabeth named children not only after themselves but also other family members. John, the first child was named after Elizabeth's father John Michael. Anna, the first daughter was named after Henry's mother Anna Schoenauer. The rest of the children were named after either Henry's or Elizabeth's siblings. Henry Huffer did have brothers named Jacob and Samuel Huffer but they stayed in Augusta Co, VA along with their parents Jacob and Anna (Schoenauer) Huffer. David Huffer was another brother and he moved to Greene Co, TN. The only sister was Susannah Catherine Huffer that married Jonas Michael. She lived in Augusta Co, VA. I have seen the Huffer name in Shelby Co,IN but I do not think they are directly connected to my Huffers. I looked through my notes and I don't have anything on your Huffer families.
