In 1842 Henry Kurre (Bernard Ronnebaum and Kurre) received the contract to build Mother of God's Church. 1842-1843 Heinrich Kurre, m.p. was one of the first board members of the church. 1845 Henry Kurre was the Vice-Collector of the Committee of the German Catholic Congregation of Covington/ 1845 Henry Kurre, who had received a majority of the votes went to Louisville on behalf of the church. 1842 Ronnebaum-Kurre-Ambrose collected $7500.00 for the construction of Mother of God's Church and School. Heinrich Kurre started a brewery with Joseph Duveneck. Duhme & Co. Brewery (also known as Lexington Brewery) owned and operated by Margaret Duhme and William Schied, located on the north side of Pike between Lewis and Western Row, built in 1859 was bought by H.H. Kurre. In 1866 he sold it to J.H. Herzog, Felix Fritz and Philip Ammann for $45,000.00.
