- ↑ Died when his car rolled back as he was getting out. The car knocked him to the ground causing his head to hit the curb. His nephew, Doug Hahn, age 11, was with him at the time.
I have fond memories of "Papa" taking me to see the Birmingham Barons at Rickwood Field as a child. Afterwards, I would spend the night with him and we would get up early the next morinng and go to a diner at 5 Pts South in Birmingham for breakfast. I would ride on the armrest in his black Cadillac.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge - I now own his gold Elk's Lodge pin as well as the Elk Lodge pin of his father. I also own his Elgin pocket watch.
