OBITUARY: Eddy Harrison died at his home in Elkhart January 21, 1890, aged 49 years, 10 months and 26 days after an illness of three days. He was born in Wayne County, Ohio, Feb. 26, 1840; came to Noble County with his parents and settled near Avilla on the farm now owned by Mr. Kreienbrink in 1845. When a child of four years, he fell from a cherry tree and received injuries which crippled him for life. While a resident of Noble County, he was elected justice of the peace, in which capacity he served until his removal to Elkhart, where he engaged in the grocery business. He acknowledged no creed but Truth. An invalid wife, three sisters and two brothers survive him. His remains were brought to Kendallville on the 23rd and interred in the Allen Chapel Cemetery. ~ 1-30-1890 ^ 1-31-1890
