Gerald Marsh Conkling, son of William and Clara (Stone) Conkling was born on 12 April 1900 in Lyons (Rice County), Kansas. On 9 November 1935, he married Elizabeth Brokaw Griffin of Norfolk, Virginia. Elizabeth died in 1989. Gerald died on 9 July 1995 in Bethesda, Maryland. Gerald was a state accountant in Kansas and then worked in Chicago before moving to Washington, DC in 1934. By 1978 the family had moved to Bethesda, Maryland. The 1980 will of his sister, Yetta names Gerald M. Conklin of 7811 Marion Lane in Bethesda, Maryland. Gerald’s obituary in the Washington Post names two sons.
