George Zent, (1793-1853), was the father of a large family. He was born Oct. 15, 1793. His children are Jacob, born July 28, 1824; John, Aug. 10, 1825; David, March 9, 1827; Susan, July 4, 1828; Sarah Ann, Jan. 30, 1830; Mary, March 10,1831; Sophrona, Aug. 14, 1832 (she lived only one year and is buried at Bellville): George, Oct. 7, 1833; Sampson, Jan. 23, 1835; Elizabeth, May 22, 1836; Isaac, Oct. 5, 1837; Emma, April 14, 1839; Emmina, May 6, 1840; Lodema, Sept. 3, 1841; Catharine, Nov. 3, 1842. George Zebt is mentioned in "The History of Richland County, Ohio" in a biographical sketch of Jefferson Township.

There is no information regarding children from George's second marriage, but other information has suggested that George and Jane divorced sometime after 1850. George MAY have been married a third time. In the family bible, a listing of a marriage between "George Zent and Sarah Long on the sixteenth day of March A.D. 1852".

Schedule of property in Richland County, Ohio probate court lists estate of George Zent, with property sold "for the support of his minor heirs, namely Sampson, Elizabeth, Isaac and Lodema Zent." Dated January 6, 1854, Bellville, Richland County, Ohio.
