  • Page 453.--18th May, 1767. (Sons of John.) George ( ) Windlecoit and Mary ( ) to William Windlecoit, £20, 79 acres patented to John Windlecoit, their father, in a larger tract of 316 acres, 10th February, 1748. Delivered: Martin Coite, per order, 12th May, 1796.
  • Page 457.--18th May, 1767. (Sons of John.) Same to John Windlekite, £20, 79 acres, part of 316 acres above, on Shanandore River; corner Philip Windlecoit's part of said tract. Delivered: Martin Coite, per order, 12th May, 1795.

Notes

Sometime between 1810 and 1815 George Kite, Sr. moved from Hawkins Co TN to Boone Co KY. There are no Kites in Boone County in 1810 Census. George's grand-daughter, Sally Kite, married in Boone County in 1815. There are six Kite families listed in the 1820 Census, three of whom are George Kites. Only one of these owned slaves, George Kite, Jr., aged 45 and up. (Wife still living in 1820.)

In his will, George mentions children William, John, George and Polly. George frees his slaves.
