  3. The estimated birth date of 1671 is borrowed from Torrey and is consistent with the birth order given by Source:Hudson, Charles. History of the Town of Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, from Its Settlement to 1868, Vol. 2, p. 449. This is based on the order the sons are named in a list in their father's will ("sons John Monroe, William Monroe, George Monroe, Daniel Monroe, David Monroe, Joseph Monroe & Benjamin Monroe" - Middlesex Probate 15716). However, Hudson says the age at death was 73 (Find A Grave) when he died Jan 1746-7, which places his birth bet. Jan 1672/73 to Jan 1673/74. It is assumed the age of death is wrong since it would probably imply he was a child of the second wife.
