Military: Enlisted in Second Tennessee Mounted Infantry, Company A, as a private, on Oct. 2, 1863. He was discharged a year later when his term expired. He spent a couple sessions in the soldier's home at Leavenworth for arterial sclerosis and other ailments, but they do not record a date of death.
